so i have the stock drums and want to convert to caliperswat are the difference between the 79-81 cross drilled and 82-83 cross drilled off a 280zx. just curisous if theres a difference

not sure, might be a different offset, I know some of the 79's had rear drums, if you are doign the swap I know the later rotors work because thats what I used

msa has the two different sets and didnt know if there was a differencewhat is the offset for the later year

could i pull everything off a 83 280zx turbo and replace the drumsor should i just buy the rear brake conversion off msa

no, you need Z31 real callipers, maxima brackets and S130 rotors

just buy the brackets on ebay, they are lightweight no rusting aluminum and you won't spend 3 hours at the junkyard trying to remove the stub axles to get the brackets off

hsi kit uses the max calipers and s130 rotors but I'm pretty sure you can still use the s130 callipers but the ebtrake cable might require a bit of extension
