while on the topic of brakes... anyone with sub 15k miles have their brakes squealing? mine have been squealing for a while and i asked someone at the dealer service center and they said thats normal? i really dont think thats normal... i have 8500 miles and theyve been squealing for posssibly 3000 miles... this is arising again now because i asked a normal employee at the dealer i went to, and he was actually angry that they told me its normal... so what do you guys think?

Go to a different dealer and get a second opinion.

I haven't done it yet, but in most cars, better tires will result in better braking. The V's stock tires leave much to be desired.

Yes, mine squealing too (at 8700 miles now). I haven't taken it in yet, but I will pretty soon. I'm getting tired of hearing the wife say "do you hear that?". It's bad having some minor flaw in your new ride and then someone that knows absolutely nothing about cars critizes it. Anyhow, I figured a little of the noise was normal and would go away possibly, but it hasn't. Dealer time........

exactly tires make the biggest thing in single braking, larger rotors and bigger calipers only come into play with repeated stopping, although the added torque from larger rotors and calipers can help but they can also cause quicker lock up. Pads and Tires are the things to look at first, and with time will come better selection, the bigger thing is a converion for the rear, the fronts are decent for a stock and mild application but the rears selection and grip for braking is what ive looked into, and if i had the money id say the new sentra with rear disc could be swapped onto the rear of the versa, they share the same beam and hubs, spindles and look very similar. if your having brake problems think what your problem is first then deside what is needed for better braking, and i would not trust KSport for brakes, as they can not build a good coilover. I would go with a set of Hawk HPS pads and new tires...just my .02
