my callipers done kicked the bucket. This is the perfect excuse to redo the brake system. Lines and big brakes r all over but nobody but my nissan dealer seems to have new brake callipers and rotors that will fit my stock alloy winter beaters. I would really like to keep using my stockies with my rally tires. so where r all the brake upgrades that will work with my 15s. ps the sr is still running strong. 'knock knock'

I hear that the Z upgrade will work on stockers that are spaced, as long as they are alloys. This is supposed to be true of 16s as well. If you want to keep a relatively stock spacing, then 17s are required. You may try the Q45 fronts though, they are double piston instead of four.

there are other options involving 180sx/maxima/altima parts that i am too drunk to fugure out right now. new isn't necessary, try looking for rebuilt calipers or rebuilding your own. it's not hard.

z32 brakes don't require 17"s or even 16"s, just 15"s that have enough clearance. some stock s13 alloys will clear 26mm calipers, all will clear q45s. this has been covered many many times, search and you will find it.

SO YOU ARE DRUNK, BUT I AM DRUNK. NOW WE DUEL! But seriously, +1 what he said. The Z's are better in the long run, and won't leave you going, "Oh, my god, I wish I had gotten Z's" , because you will have them. Just buy the upgrade and check it out.

true. they are kick ***, i know, i have them. but if you don't need the power and feel, they are overkill. but s13 alloys or other wheels that clear are so easy to come by there is no point in disregarding them on wheel clearance alone. ditch the steelies, buy another set of alloys for the winter tires or a good set of aftermarket alloys for summer tires and have fun with it.

Will the stockers clear the Zs, w/o spacers. Please tell me so, that will be next, if they do. Are you using stock rotors or 3KGT?

I did a search on 3000gt, you will need a 15mm spacer just to clear the z32 itself

don't bother, there are other problems associated with it also, I only found alittle bit on freshalloy

So the extra inch isn't worth it on rotor dia.? I wouldn't think that it would be at that point, but who knows. But with stock wheels you can clear just the Z32 parts? Also, from anyone who has done it: Does pedal feel normal when MC is replaced with Z32? Oh, and sorry for the thread-jack, but I think we all have these questions.

this has been covered before but i guess i'll help you out anyway.

S14 wheels clear all z32 brakes. some s13 seven spoke alloys (there are two different types) will clear the 26mm calipers. others will require a spacer, how thick depends on which calipers and wheels you have.

the pedal feel is different with the z32 system. i have the 17/16" MC on my system and the pedal is very stiff and requires more effort than normal systems. i like it but wish it was a bit easier on the leg muscles. the 1" MC would give you a little more travel and less effort. either one works well, it just depends on preference. if i did it over again, i might consider a 1" MC or upgrading the booster too.

The 1" is the stock Z32 unit and we have the 17/16", right?

1" and 17/16" are stock z32 depending on year and trim. s13/14 is 7/8".

Which explains why it can't move all the fluid it needs to.
