Hi,

i'm searching the net to find a solution for my brakes. As i said in the title my car is a 91 S13, and it comes with 257mm rotors front instead of the 280mm after 91.

First i wanted to know what was the difference between those 2 ?- is the spindle mounting point different or the calipers ? do i need to swap spindles for 280mm conversion or big brake kit ?- is the master cylinder size different ?- does nissan changed something to adapt the bias with bigger 280mm rotors ?

That was questions for oem differences, cause my point is to know if a big brake kit for a S13 will directly fit on my car with the same adapting brackets or not.

Then, about big brake kits:- What should i have to do if i want to keep the oem bias between front and rear ? changing master cylinder ? for wich one ?- Do U know a plug and play kit that fit perfect and respect bias ?Cause i saw lots of kit from expensive GT brembo's to redrilled 350z rotors but i'm pretty sure the bias will not be ok.

Do U know a kit + master cylinder that will work fine ?I dont plane to swap to 5 lugs(e-brake mess, finding used parts...) so i want to find a kit that work for 4 lug if possible. That's a lot of questions but its finally not that evident to find answer to that, shops want to sell there expensive kit but i'm not sure they care more than that about effectiveness.thanks,

Ludo.

I found that on sxoc in UK:Quote »The calipers are the same, the cradle on the preface lift is smaller to fit the 257mm discs. and the facelift are bigger the fit 280mm discs. you can change to facelift brake, with new cradles and discs.[/quote]Whats the cradle ?

I found this kit that looks good and q45 calipers dont affect bias apparently, is it true ? considering that the lever will be different with bigger rotors. But the kit dont come with brackets !! i dont thing that the calipers will fit without modification, right !?http://www.frsport.com/Nissan_....html Another good thing is that they can redrill it in 4 lug

you can put any OEM bvrakes on you want, and me thinks you wouldnt even know if the bias changed

its not oozing that you know what your doing really, so anythign honestly would be better than stock

Most early to mid 1990s nissan brake hardware will fit (Z32/R32, R33), and some of the later hardware will as well (350z/G35 Brembos).

You will only notice bias issues during trail braking on corner entry.

I found thoses on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW they are 43mmIs it the good ones for a S13 ?i think its a good compromise between junkyard(btw, there is no infinity here in France) stuff and 500 box big brake kits, just need to find rotors, apparently altima 99 are 4 lugs, i will search more about this.

- So as far as i read everywhere i can swap calipers directly on oem mounting points on my spindle and it will clear the 11" rotors ? right ? no adapting brackets ?

- it will fit directly on stock line too, right ?

thanks guys, if everything seams clear i will purchase the calipers on the ebay link(no needs to rebuild), altima rotors, and stock mounting braided lines.Looks like a pretty decent upgrade for the price and no need to swap MC.
