I just installed my 3rd set of 300zx brakes. I've done it twice before with no problems. But this time, when we backed it off of the lift. There was no brake pedal pressure at all. We checked the lines, and bled them 4 more times each. We used the stock 300zx lines, and they fit just fine with no leaks there as well as none anywhere else. The stock 240sx brakes that were on the car worked just fine before I did the swap. I ordered a new master cylinder thinkin that might be it...but i dont see how that would be the cause since it was fine BEFREO the swap...somebody..hopefully a moderator...lend some help. This is really pissin me off.

Did you try to keep pumping?

Usually when you drain the calipers it takes quite a few pumps to fill them up again... and I've seen a bazillion posts on this type of thing on other forums so that is why I ask.

More than likely it's not the MC..

it doesnt matter how many times you bleed the brakes, air bubbles CAN remain trapped, maybe you should consult a professional............

i know when i replaced my slave, bleeding it afterwards caused an internal leak in the master cyl. so i replaced that and now it works great. Apparently bleeding sometimes causes something to travel a little further in the cyl, and there may be a burr or something that can rip a seal, other than that, there may just be air trapped somewhere like other people said.

I bled the car completely. So Im pretty sure that there arent any air in the lines. Is there any way that the stock 300zx line sare sausing the problem? You guys should understand that there was NO problem at all with the brakes before we took the calipers off and replaced them. Also, with air in the lines, there would be some pressure in the lines after being pumped a few times....there is NO pedal pressure at all.

Are the stock 300z lines rubber? I have never heard of anyone using rubber lines, everyone says you need to use the braided stainless ones for enough pressure.

I was under the impression that the 300ZX stock rubber lines would not fit. There's nothing wrong with them being rubber, but the rubber 300ZX lines won't properly fit the 240sx hard line. Is this what you're trying to do?

PDM Racing sells some custom steel lines for the 300ZX brake swap. Nissanperformancemag.com also says that you can swap the 300ZX rubber lines AND hard lines in to the 240SX. I don't know if many people do this.

Ok, i tried to bleed these things again, and this time got no pressure in the rear. It woudl only trickle out. i replaced the master cylinder, and got the prssure back, but this tim found a lak in the lines where it bolts up to the chassis line. I was told that the stock 300zx lines would work fine...but apparently not...i just got the ss lines today from heavy throttle. good price, but the shiping sucks ***. I paid for overnight online, when i ordered the lines, and got a call on monday. I wouldnt get the line until today.....thursday. BUT, id still have to pay shiping for overnight or i wouldnt get them until early next week. My advice, although the price was good (79), id got to pdm for the lines...they have em in stock. the price for thiers is the same as if you would have gotten them shipped overnight from heavy throttle, and theyd get to you the same time. Plus, the customer service was good only until i called back pissed about paying for overnight and getting them until 4 days later...then all I got was the "its not my problem" attitude. I have had my own lines made for all of my 240 brake swaps, but this time I wanted to buy them to see if the quality is better, worse or the same. It only costs me 40 for the lines to be made in 20 minutes. I spend alot of money on my cars....but no more of it will be for lines through heavy throttle.

damn i pissed

good to hear it got resolved, I was going to say "the stock 240 or Z lines dont work with the swap, you need customs"...
