Hey guys, my front brakes are shot to crap on my s13 and so is my passenger ball joint. I'm on a restrictive budget, but I think I've finally put together the parts I'm going to get. Before I buy them, can I get some feedback to determine if this is the right route and worth the upgrade?

RAYBESTOS 507-1311 Control Arm/Ball Joint Assy | eBay

Centric Parts 105.07000 Front Original Equipment Ceramic Pads | eBay

Centric Parts 121.42041 Front Disc Brake Rotor | eBay

My concern with the rotors, is that it does not specify if it's for ABS or not. How do I tell? I do not have ABS.

As for the pads, I don't believe it comes with shims and I cannot find the kit it requires. Does it actually come with shims or should I avoid these for that reason?

If you were going to do this, would you recommend different parts? I would like to end up paying no more than $150 for everything.

Thanks for reading.

For oem replacement stuff I've used centric and raybestos on other cars with no issues. Centric is actually a really good brake parts company. As far as the rotor, there isn't any difference between abs, non abs. And I don't know what ”shims” you are taking about. If your talking about the hardware kit. Centric sometimes has it in with the pads. If not, they are usually only $3-$5. I would just order it, all decent stuff.

Well I had a member of Zilvia tell me the ABS rotors are 22 mm and the non-ABS rotors are about 20, so these are indeed ABS rotors and it does matter if they're too thick?

The shims are little metal plates that go on the back of the pads for noise abatement and I can't find the kit necessary for these pads.

The pads should have some on there. If not, just use that spray stuff on the back of the pad. If the pads don't have them, you won't find them. As far as the abs/non abs, look your car up in an autozone system. If they list a different part number for abs than yes, there is a difference.

I normally do that, but when I was looking through rockauto, each rotor specified either ABS or non-ABS. I'll check AZ though as well to confirm. I would love for you to be right because I can get some better Raybestos rotors for the same price. They said ABS models though :/

EDIT: AZ part numbers are different, so that rotor will not work.

I found these on eBay and I've been researching them. Everyone seems happy with them. Any opinions?
