check for a leak. Raise the car and press the brakes a few times. This should bring up some droplets of brake fluid at the very least assuming you've got enough fluid in your master. Also which master did you get? Did you get a z32 master? I've heard of problems with the 240's having problems of the master not being able to push enough fluid. Sounds like a good possibility here.

you remembered the order to bleed them right?

drivers rear, passanger rear, pasanger front, driver front, and also, try bleeding the master cylinder (loosten the lines going to the cylinder while someone holds the pedal, put somthing under it to catch the drips though, or they will strip the paint on the frame and stuff, thats what happened to mine from the previous owner

ok, lets break this down. i believe you understand how brakes work but i want to talk through it for you. you push the pedal to get a mechanical advantage on the master cyl. its all good in the hood. you start the car and get the leverage of the pedal(like you just had before) AND the assist from the vacuum booster. blam! pedal on floor. this means your brake pedal and booster work real good. moving on. you put a new master on it. thats good. did you bench bleed the master? how about bleeding the master at the lines when installed? thats important but it does not explain why you had a prob before you installed it. nevertheless, do that to rule out the multiple problem possibility. after doing that bleed the wheels regularly(two man method, with some clear tubing on the bleeders). then start car and pump brakes. check for leaks. a)no leaks, pedal firm=its all good in the hood!b)leaks, pedal on floor=fix the leaks!(now for the sucky part)c)no leaks, pedal on floor=air in sys, or internal leakair in sys means more bleeding(do you have enough ate super blue?)internal leak means new master(you already did that) or some other component like proportioning valve(should be internal to the master) or a caliper(you would eventually see fluid on the caliper from this)

do all that. be sure to clean up thoroughly after every step with brake parts cleaner(from auto parts store in an aerosol can). this will help you to identify any leaks that may be present.
