I have a 2008 G37 Coupe with just over 24000 kms. Every time I get it serviced here in Calgary Canada I complain about the loud, terrible, brake squeal in reverse. Sounds like a high pitched and very loud wine. Only in reverse. My dealer says it is a problem with the G37 Coupe that Infiniti can not resolve. My dealer (Hyatt Infiniti) will not do anything about it. Does anyone else have this problem and were you able to get Infinity or your dealer to fix it? At this point I would not buy another Infiniti or recommend one to my friends because of this. thanks for any help..

I do as well with the 2008 G37 coupe,do you have the S? I sprayed brake cleaner on the set up and it
helped for awhile.I have 30,000 kms on the car and will have the dealer check out next time I go
in to find out what the deal is.I understand Infiniti offers as an option different pads for the G to help
fade,I suspect also to help with the squeak.

Again the car may know that you are spelling its name wrong and be angry.

OEM pads seem to be noisy anyway. Change to different pads eventually.

I had mine replace under warrantee and the new ones squeal too. It is very embarassing to be driving such and nice car and having that LOUD squeal.

mine does this as well. I have an appointment to get my wheel fixed (flaking) next week and will ask about this. This doesn't happen every time I back up - just sometimes. I haven't been able to figure out what the x factor is (humidity, temp, Dow Jones, etc)

Thanks everyone for your replies.. not alone with this problem which is very annoying and embarrassing. My brake squeal in reverse happens about 90% of the time. I found TSB #ITB09-009 for G37's which I asked my dealer about but he has not got back to me.

Just heard back from my dealer and TSB #ITB09-009 does not apply to my car due to some vague reason. If anyone else is checking on this problem ask them about this TSB.

I am having the same issue with my 2009 G37S coupe (noticed it at 9K miles). My dealer said it is normal. For my next service I will not take my vehicle back to Grubbs. Will try Sewell in Dallas.

Thanks to all for your replies. Just confirmed that I am only 1 of thousands with this ugly Infiniti flaw that they will not do anything about. I am now planning to replace my pads. Any recommendations from anyone? Project MU's?

I am in the market for a new 2010 G37 Coupe, and have driven several. I never noticed any brake noise. Has Infiniti fixed the brake noise problem on 2010's?

I have a 2013 G37 Coupe and the noise from the brakes at 6AM when the wife goes to work is horrible and now my neighbors are complaining.
I took the car in for an Oil Change and reported the brake problem and the Service Manager said it was normal for the brakes to squeal?
I thought he was crazy and asked my Sales Rep who also said this was normal and a fault with the brakes.
I have 11 months left on my lease but will never buy another Infiniti because of this problem.
I am totally flabbergasted that a $44K vehicle will have this problem?

I've had the rear brakes squeal during reverse some, but nowhere near where the neighbors would hear it. It is simply NOT normal.

My '11 EX35 used to have this problem with the rear brakes, it was before the pads were worn enough to need replacement. Eventually they did wear down enough and the problem went away with the new pads. I have not had this problem at all with my G, and it has the Akebonos. That made me think it was a problem with the base level brakes, but I have read the sport brakes are worse.

Do what I did. Mine on my '08 coupe were so bad I was embarassed to take my car to Sonic because I didn't want to have to back out of my space in front of everybody. Can you believe? A $44k car that you are embarassed to drive.

The dealership "fixed" it once. I guess they just sprayed some kind of squeal silencer on it. Within a few months it was doing it again. They were never "able to duplicate" the problem when I took it in.

I videoed myself backing out of my garage. It was ear piercing. I took it to the dealership and played it for them and threatened to put it on YouTube. For some strange reason, they could fix it that time. Everybody was laughing at my recording.

My '03 G-35 Sedan just started doing this squeal. I'm less alramed reading all these posts. Seems that it's common and not way harmful.

If your '03 has just started making a squeal then I would have it looked at as it seems "not normal" in your circumstance.

I used Stop Tech brakes, it stops squealing.

Applying grease to the back of pads can sometimes eliminate the squealing problem.
