My 90 240sx makes a squeal under light braking, but as I apply more pedal pressure it goes away. My brakes still don't need to be done yet, so I am trying to figure out a way to keep em from squealing before I eventually service them. I know I could buy the pads with the soft backing plate sticker, but I don't want to. What about just spraying down the pad/caliper assembly with brake cleaner? That will fix it temporarily, won't it,? If so, for how long? Is there any long term fix for the problem? What about that goo that you put on the back of the pad, is it good stuff? Is there any other stuff I should use or any trick to fix it?
