2009 G37 - Brake rotors were warped at 13,500 miles and had to be replaced. I had the dealer do this. Now, at 38,500 one of them is warped again. Does Nissan use thin, cheap, rotors on G37's? Is there an upgrade (thicker, stronger) rotors I could put on? I know the dealer's answer in advance. (They have all 22 year old guys working as "service advisors". Most of these just learned the canned statements to repeat.) "We put on what the factory recommends", is what I'll get when I ask about better rotors. PS - I drive all highway miles and not too hard.

I take it you have the non sport, which probably has the same or very similiar brake setup as my 06 M35. This is seemingly endemnic to the M community. The amount of heat buildup, I guess mostly because of the weight of our cars, is too much for the OEM rotors.

I'm actually upgrading to the sport brakes that come standard on the 08+ sport G's and I think optioned for the 370z's. 14" rotors actually...While I don't frequent the G boards I haven't heard anyone complain of that same issue with those brakes.

THIS IS COVERED UNDER A TSB. . .TAKE YOUR CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND GET THEM REPLACED FOR FREE!!!

THE PROBLEM IS THE RAIN SHIELD WAS MADE TOO SMALL, SO WHEN IT RAINS, THE ROTORS WERE GETTING WETTER THAN THEY SHOULD. . .OF COURSE HEATING UP AND HAVING THEM TURNED JUST MAKES THEM THINNER.

THE DEALERSHIP WILL PUT ON NEW PADS, ROTORS AND A BIGGER SHIELD. . .

DO NOT PAY TO HAVE ANY WORK DONE B/C THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT INFINITI HAS!!!

do they make regular rotors? Or all of them slotted or drilled??
If so, what would you recommend for a regular rotor?

On my 05 sedan that seemed to have warped rotors, my Nissan buddies (parts manager who also has a track car) advised me to replace the rotors and buy an aftermarket ceramic pad (heats less). I ended up trading on the 08 before doing the fronts.

They make a blank face rotor, slotted rotor and slotted/drilled rotor.

I run the slotted rotor up front on my Brembo's and blank face rotor in the rear. They are just starting to vibrate a little under hard braking now, but keep in mind I beat the sh*t out of them at the Nissan Convention and took another trip to the Tail of the Dragon this past weekend and whooped on them some more. The stock rotors would not have stood up to that abuse as long.

i am experiencing this too. I feel like my rotors are warped. does the TSB apply to 08 G35 sedans without sport brakes?

could someone also provide an official link with the TSB info?
