Hi All,

After less than 9 k miles I have to replace my rear rotors. I am need to do one for sure but I will do both while I have the car on the jack stands.

I also have to replace the right rear caliper, I am sure it is the reason why the right rear brake is in terrible condition. The rotors and pads are half of the set I bought from brake motive. I can not blame the rotor or the pads; because the fronts are still in reasonable shape. This has some thing to do with the caliper vs the rotor and pas- not 100 % sure; but since the left side looks serviceable I have to deduct that the right rear caliper is faulty.

Anyone run into this issue on just one side?

The new rotors will be oem Brenbo discs, hard to find akebono pads up here so I will go with a oem wagner replacement set.

Let you know what I find and I will post pic's of the cooked and deeply grooved slotted and drilled rotor.

I haven't had this problem on my M35x but did see it on my G35. One of the rear caliper slide pin boots was torn. Over time, this caused the slid pin to corrode and lock up which effectively siezed-up the caliper. I could not find a rebuild kit and had to buy a rebuilt caliper.

Thanks it sounds like what I am seeing, will pull it a part tomorrow night and see what we find. I had such trouble with that right rear when i did the the initial change that it is possible that i did tear the boot.

Thanks

Follow up:
Replaced the rear rotors with brembo oem replacements. The issue with my rear brakes was one badly worn and seized caliper. All other drilled and slotted rotors and pads looked fine about 70 to o75 % life left on all rotors and pads except the right rear which was toast. So the ebay discs and pads are very good and wearing well.

Nope, I would have some caliper pins handy for the rear I had a hell of time with the lower right.

Yup! And please do clean and grease them well afterwards (with what is appropriate for lots of heat in this application) whenever you replace pads - this will help minimize/avoid pins sticking the next time.
