I have a 92 240sx i got for basically nothing.. It had been sitting for a few years. The first thing i noticed when i dove in to this project is that while moving there was a grinding noise coming from the brakes.. i put new rotors and pads on the front and even when i spin the wheel by hand it grinds, not consistently, just in one spot. only when the pads are on it will grind.. if i spin the wheel with the rotor on and in place with the lugs its fine, but when i put pads on it grinds , I cant find any diys or anything about this topic, any information would help. thanks

thats a tough one.i think i'm having the same problem with my 96 s14.the driver side rear rotor makes that noise and i can really hear the noise when i drive by a wall with my window down.i've replaced the rotor and calipers before and still have that problem.

does your rotors get really HOT after driving for awhile? on mine the driver side gets really hot and it made the wheels HOT to the touch.

not sure i havnt really touched em, but yes driving by some walls and you can definatly hear it, scrape scrape scrape, its annoying as hell. ive taken the brakes apart and its roughing up the pads in the middle making them gritty feeling.
