the part that the caliper bolts onto is called the torque member. To bolt the caliper on, the rears take 22pds/ft (not sure about the front, sorry, I'll check me fsm for you). You will notice the slider pins (where the caliper bolts screw into). Do not over torque this piece, it may lead to uneven wear in pads/ siezure. Make sure these bolts slide off freely, or else you will have to replace your torque member.
Reason why I say check them is, on my car, the rears were totally rusted together, and siezed. I just wanted to change my pads, so i did, bolted everything back up, including my old rotor, and drove away. A couple hours later, the rotor snapped into 2!! Couldn't figure out what the problem was, so luckily i found a 98 240 i could rip parts off (long story) and I swapped calipers, but not torque members. Anyway, bought a new rotor, slapped it on, and it snapped 4 hours later. Took the whole system apart, found my caliper pins rusted shut, went to the scrap yard, picked up a member off an s13, slapped it on, and it runs fine. Now i have to find another one for the other side (Nissan only sells this part with caliper, $200, not worth it if your caliper is fine).
To check the pins, just pull them out. They slide off with ease, and make sure to lube them over once they are off. There is a little rubber boot that goes over them, if you are unsure of which pins i am talking about
