I'm pretty sure my rotors have gotten warped, but not 100%. Everytime I brake, my steering wheel shakes left to right alot but not where I'm swerving all across a lane, just that it shakes at low and high speeds. The higher, the faster it shakes. I'm gonna get it checked out probably tomorrow morning to be sure but just in case, what would be the best rotors to buy?

Should I replace only that one rotor if I go a non-stock option. I'm leaning towards these brembo replacements from tire rack, but I'm considering any options. http://www.tirerack.com/brakes...otors

Always replace rotors and pads in pairs. Good to have a shiim kit on hand if you need it. Replace brake fluid also with DOT4.

The Brembo rotors are very good, but corrode like a cheap tin can. If Joe is running a special on the Stillen Brembos, I prefer them as they are plated. OEM pads are the best for everyday street driving.

Don't neglect the rear brakes as they may be untrue also and the pads wear fast due to the rear brake bias. Be sure to adjust the emergency brake while you are performing this maintenance.

Turning the rotors is the least expensive on the short run, but you will be back sooner as there is less thermal mass when you are finished.

That's the sum of my experience with all 3 types: OEM, Brembo OEM Replacement, and Stillen Brembo OEM replacement rotors. Long run, I much prefer the Stillen Brembos.

Is there a coating I could put on the rotor to stop it from corroding? My Stock ones are horribly corroded and looks disgusting. Its ridiculously hard/nearly impossible to get em clean. Aren't the Stillen ones only for the G50?

By coating I'm thinking along the lines of Rust Bullet or something like I saw when people used to restore 240Z's alot of em painted the car with Rust Bullet, or some other thing. Would this have a negative effect, or even just melt off with all the heat?

You can buy Zinc plated rotors for a small added costs. These rotors don't rust.

However, note that the rust is only on the areas where the pad does not touch the rotor metal. This is generally not a problem for braking performance per se.

Paint the rotor hubs when you have the new rotors off the car. You don't have to be neat because the brake pads will cut a clean line on the rotor face the first time you brake. I do this on all my cars and it works very well. The only time it wouldn't work is when you have very open aftermarket wheels that expose the entire brake system. Then you have to be neater and more precise with the painting.

Thank you guys. Infiniti Quoted me $114.20 for front rotors, and same price for Rears. I'm still deciding between the Brembo OEM's or something else like http://www.autopartswarehouse.....html

Any other brake rotors I should be eyeballing right now for the Y33?

Before you part with your hard earned cash consider having them turned. Yes you will have less "thermal mass" (and they'll be thinner too!) but you'll still have $220 cash in your wallet. Hell that's a good start to a nice weekend! (can you say hookers and crack??)

If they are still thick enough to turn then turn 'em. If they are too thin, then buy new ones. Most competent shops will mike them and tell you right off the bat if they are salvageable.

Really, these things are purty stout from the factory. No sense in arbitrarily tossing them out just because you have some shimmy if they can be adequately resurfaced. I did my brakes last fall and had em turned for 20 bucks. A new shim kit and pads and I'm good to go. I have put about 12K on them since then and no shimmy. Sumbitch stops good.

for the money centric rotors are the best as they are well ventilated and already come with the anti corrosive paint near the hub area.look them up at their website

There are two levels of Centri rotors. Cheap is crap, expensive is acceptable.
