Did you sand and check the rotor for trueness before installation?

that pic looks like its out-of-box...

-CHetPS: a write up would be neat. Let me know if you'd like help if you decide to undertake it.

Yea he got brand new rotors. As for putting the studs on it was a bit fun.He works at a machine shop and was like let's go to my shop blah blah blah.Got to take off my hub and press bearing blah blah blah.I was like nah I got a better idea.Used old lug nut turned a couple threads and wacked with a hammer until came out. Then to get them back on had to run to the store and grabbed 7 washers. And just stacked them and then air impact to draw the stud through.Worked like a champ.I'll probably do a write-up.Might grab me some and do mine this week.I don't need to change any studs to my knowledge though. But will show what I did.

id be careful using an impact gun to seat the studs.

also chet was saying that, ideally, you need to prep out of the box rotors before you put them on the car.

My friend was messing with the rotors while I was disassembling the brake calipers.I know he had a rag and was taking off the oil or whatever they put on them but don't know if he did anything else.I was on the other side of the car at the time.

I wouldn't use an impact to seat the studs. We always used old lugnuts and washers in Retard Garage until just recently when Greg got a press

It worked quite well with us.Put stud through.Stacked 7 washers had new lug on it threadedand just impacted gentlybacked up would remove one washer and go again. Not anyworse than what walmart does. After we were done we could put the studs on by hand so it didn't stretch or crossthread it any.

just get an open ended lug nut and a deep socket and set them by hand. less oportunity for mess ups.
