I have 42,000 miles on my 2004 Coupe. I brought the car in for warranty work and walked out with both my front and back brakes repaired. They did the rotors and the pads. I have Bremble brakes. It seems like this should not have happened so soon. I feel like I have been ripped off but maybe this is "normal". And if so, what should I expect in my near future? I love the car...I don't think I am willing to part with it!

Getting 42K out of a set of front pads is hard to do, usually 20K-30K is the norm. So you didn't get screwed on the fronts.

Now, rear brakes usually last much longer, on some cars 100K but with those brakes there is a very good chance that the rear brakes do alot of work and therefore wear out faster.

Sounds like you should expect 40k brake repairs inreturn for excellent brakes in both appearance and function.

When the first Q45 came out in 1989 the pads lasted 17-20k if you were very very careful. The Tires were so soft that 15k was normal life.Owners cried and whined about cost of mainteance and eventually Nissan developed some worthless pads and changed tire brands that doubled the life and increased stopping distances from 129' to 142'.

Performance brakes are dusty and wear fast if you desire the nTH degree of what's possible.

How much longer stopping distances do you want?
