I'm in the proccess of updating my brake package from the current 03 regular brakes to the 05-06 brakes. My question is this, is the rear brakes the same size or are they bigger as well on the 05-06? and does it matter the brand of rotors? I know the pads matter, but do the rotors matter? In addition, does the brand of calipers matter as well?

If you go to the Autoparts store and buy the 06 G35 sedan front rotors and calipers as well as the Pads you will be set.

The rotors are bigger and so are the calipers.

I think the rear is the same... I don't think it would be worth it if it is a little bigger!

If you need any help... let me know!

sounds good to me... Ask when you get to the auto parts store to look up the caliper type and size for the two different years!

If they are difference then weight your options.

I would also go with the ceramic pads too.. Much cooler and last much longer... Plus no dust!

which ones do you have? I have the akebono and they suck for stopping power.....i think i might go with the stock 06 pads if these pads are indicative of the stopping power of all ceramic pads....before i changed from OEM to ceramic my car used to stop on a dime.....now it sucks and i dont feel comfortable driving in a "sprited way" which is another reason im updating my brakes with a sense of urgency...

I think it started with a T.... Theromquite something something....??? I think they were Weaver Thermo Quite..

The ones I had on my lexus where Friction masters (Very good)

You have to be careful when buying the pads.. Most of the computers are wrong at the auto parts stores for the pads. They kept selling me the pads for the smaller size g35's. The stores don't know that they changed in 05 except for the X and they still try to sell you the pads for the Brembo's even tho they stopped them in 04...

i had a hard time getting the right pads for the front... Finally I brought a pad in with me and they size matched it.... some type of organizational problem???

the 05/06 rwd brakes are bigger front and rear compared to 03/04. 05x aren't any different.
