I have a couple of brake questions. One is my Murano brakes make a noise when backing up first thing in the morning but that is usually the only time. My wife freaks out about out and we just went to have our tires rotated yesterday and the right rear brake is wearing out faster than the left. The sliding pins are sticking is what we were told, the problem is we just had the same problem last April at another place and they had did a brake job then as well. My concern is that there is another problem that is causing the brakes to wear faster than normal. My wife is aggravated because she thought the brake job yesterday would get rid of the noise and it didn't. My questions are is the noise first thing in the morning common and normal? My other quesiton is does anyone have any idea if the rear brake wearing out is common or do I have a problem with the brakes?
Thanks!

From the limited information here it sounds like you have a brake caliper problem and I would recommend taking your car back to the shop that just completed your brake job and get them to properly fix the problem - with a recurring sticking caliper the standard fix would be to replace the entire caliper unless visual inspection shows a sub-component as the culpret, such as mis-machinge slider pin. The good news is your brake calipers are pretty standard, you don't need a Nissan service tech to diagnose this (unless you're still under warranty, if so take it to Nissan for free warranty work).

This should be pretty straight forward so no need to get stresed, you have the right-side brake wearing faster than the left AND the service shop diagnosed bad caliper slider pin/bolts or bad caliper sliding surface causing the brake to bind up. This is the cause of the noise when backing up, and no this is NOT normal, it requires a simple fix.

My questions is, once the service shop diagnosed a bad caliper, what did they do to fix the problem? They obviously did not fix the problem so I'd say get it back there ASAP and if you don't have time at least give them a call and let them know their repair was not successful. My guess is the entire caliper should be replaced, hopefully you still have warranty but either way this will eliminate the noise and the uneven brake wear.
