I've been working on my car recently to put it back into stock conditions because the douchebag that owned the car before me ruined it in so many ways. On to the problem: Before I can brake I have to step on the brake pedal several times so it can brake. It's like building up pressure. If i just slam on my brake w/o pumping it then it has no braking power watsoever. So i was wondering if it's the brake lines or just need to be bled.

sounds like it, or perhaps a master cylinder wearing out. If you can't get someone to help you bleed the system you can get a one man bleeder kit from the parts house. I think that they are about $5.00 round about. Good Luck!

the oneman bleeding system? I got one of those at Auto Zone and it sucks. I mean wat the hell, how the hell does it work?! ^_^. I plan on changing the entire brake fluid so it will be a long arse bleeding process. I guess afterward I will find out if it's the worn out master cylinder or brake lines...

sounds like the seals in the master cylinder are going bad if you had to pump up the pedal.
