So the other day my brakes decided to stick, and felt like all of my brakes stayed engaged, and my pedal got stiff as a board, but after sitting for a while it releases and feels normal, but repeats the problem once driving and using the brakes. I changed my brake master cylinder and the problem still exists, would this be the proportioning valve? If not, any insight?

check for deteriorated rubber brake lines

jack the car and check which brake is sticking .. could also be a sticking caliper..

you could also bring it to a garage if you don't fell confortable working on a critical system.

up here, all brake inspections/estimates are free

Would a faulty caliper cause all calipers to stay engaged?

Would a bad rubber line or bad proportion valve cause this?

It is not going to cause all of them to stick. You need to check and see if in fact if all of them are sticking and go from there.

Remove your master cylinder and adjust the push rod in and see if that takes care of it.

You could have a brake booster problem.

Would the push rod be a problem if ive never tampered with it and it just out of the blue started acting up?

Try checking the pressure line going from the engine valve cover to the brake booster. There could be a hole or bad connection there. The pedal will get stiff whenever the booster is not getting pressure from the engine. Whenever a car is off and you depress the brake the pedal ends up getting stiff due to a lack of pressure in the brake booster. I would check there first and then look for leaks. You may also want to lubricate the pads, shims, slides, etc. to ensure nothing is catching in the calipers themselves.

What does that have to do with a booster problem?

if its a good master cylinder, I believe its not supposed to drop. especially down to 300 thats way to low.

Well I got down to it tonight, I took off my brake boost (no rust holes), all calipers, (back left seemed to be half way stuck engaged), i have 2 warped rotors, not torn lines, and fairly clean brake fluid, Im going to go get my 180sx rotors resurfaced, new (to me) calipers cleaned, and new pads, im hoping there was some problem in the way that replacing this stuff will fix
