I know some types of brake pads are equipped with wear indicators and can be quite noisy if not effective in getting you to change pads, but does that noise only happens on the application of brakes or always when you are driving. Over the last 2 days..this very annoying noise has developed on my Bluebird. As soon as i move off..a grinding noise develops and only subsides on the application of brakes. I have seen the brake indicator on the dash flash twice in the same 2 days..Can this be only brake related?

First you would need to take a look at your brake pads and assert whether or not they need to be changed. The brake light isan indication that your brake pads are worn. If the pads look too thin, change them and hopefully this gets rid of the grinding noise.
