Well, lets see how i can start this off, i had bought some new rotors for all around, well i had changed them all, and when i had put back on all the calipers i had blead each one, well when ever iam bleeding the pedal gets hard, but when i turn on my car, the pedal is all spungy, and about to drop to the floor, before i had change the rotors, the car would atleast stop without a hesitatin. I had blead the brakes atleast 4 times, going in the correct pattern, which it should be done, but same thing. Anyone know whats wrong, please any help would be nice thanks the car is a 1990 240sx

I hope you aren't doing this job by yourself. Do do it properly, I think you need two people... OK... get a friend,relative... have them sit in the drivers seat... you with the 8mm wrench sit there at whatever wheel you're going to start with... ask them to pump the brakes 10 times and hold it to the floor on the 10th time... take your wrench and open the bleeder screw.. a good thing to have is an empty soda bottle and a foot of rubber tubing to fit over the bleeder... preferably a clear soda bottle with no label on it so you can see if bubbles come out from the end of the tube. Pour some brake fluid in there so you can see bubbles.... (know what i'm saying?)OK tighten the screw and ask them to pump 10 more times and hold on #10... Keep doing this same thing for every wheel until you see no bubbles. It also helps to have a third person (makes things go faster) with a bottle of fluid pouring it into the master cylinder as it gets lower... prevents air getting sucked in to the system.. resevoir.. whatever....

She meant if you suck all the fluid out of the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder it will suck air into the lines. Don't disregard small things like that, last year at school we bled the brakes on an old Chevy Malibu like 10 times before we got pressure.

yea yea, that's what I meant. Just trying to help you, I didn't know you were supposed to bleed your brakes when you just take them off and change the rotors... is that true?

No, you don't have to as long as you don't mess with any of the fluid lines. Maybe he pulled the line off the caliper when he removed them to get it all out of the way?

I wasn't sure... well if he did that then he didn't need to bleed the brakes anyway!
