I was checking a few things (ties rods, etc...) on my daughter's 2009 Rogue and noticed the brake cover plate was badly rusted. It has a few rust holes.
I put the car back down before I realized I needed to see how the cover plates were attached.

Are they held in place by 3 bolts and easy to remove, or do I need to remove the brakes, rotor, wheel hub, etc...?

I assume you mean the backing plate? It’s the whole shebang. Brakes rotors axle nut and hub. I eliminated mine when I did my 09 Altima wheel bearings many miles ago and never an issue. I figured when they stoned my country road as a cheap way to resurface it I’d pick up a stone but never did.

If this is the case, since it has about 130,000 miles...
I might as well replace it, and also the wheel hub, rotor, etc...

Thanks for the input!
