My barke pedal is sitting pretty low and when I try to lock up wheels, I have to push all the way to the stop and wait like half a sec before locking.

I've read that stock rubber brake lines have a tendancy to expand overtime thus lowering pedal. Do you think upgrading to Russel or Goodridge SS brake lines will help ?

Please share your experience with those, preferably this upgrade on stock brake system with nice pads (axxis or hawk)

Car has 107k miles on it.

Thank you.

why are you locking up your brakes?anyways, check your fuild leve, check the MC for leaks, and all the hoses first, if the pedal is really low, or pressure isnt being applied it could be more than the spongy rubber lines. if everyhting checks out A-OK, upgrading the lines and pads my help pedal feel...

I have axxis metal amsters on cross drilled rotors and goodridge SS lines, and love my brakes...much nicer feel than stock.-chet

Bleed & flush, check for cracks on the rubber lines, and replace em anyway. Check M/C for leaking, as Chet said. SS lines do tend to firm up pedal feel.

Why are you trying to lock the wheels? This is similar to flushing money down the toilet. How are your tires holding up? Flat spotted tires are not covered under warranty.(at least any warranty that I've ever seen)

Thank you for advice.

MC is in top shape, fluid have been recently changed and is at the required level. All tire pressure at 34PSI.

I was trying to lock up wheels just in order to get the feeling of when they are actualy locking. I was doing it on an empty parking lot. Maybe did 3-4 tries. Tires are holding up great.

I upgraded to Axis metal master and d/s brembos, but I didn't have money to replace the lines. I wish I did it right away.

I think I will get them and install next time I have to change the pads.

Don't get me wrong, brakes work awesome, much better than stock, but the main force is almost like 5-6mm before the end of the pedal travel.

On that note, I read in other post that peeps had some "fitment" issues with Russel SS lines. I think I'm going to pay extra 15$ and get Goodridge.

Thank you for advice again.
