Brake pedal "clicks" right b/f braking?

You might want to grab a flashlight and climb under there and inspect the pin connecting the brake pedal to the fork for the brake master cylinder. There is a polymer retainer that may wear out over time. There should be some free play the assembly, but <3mm I think. There really is not much to the brake pedal setup, a little penetrating oil never hurts the pivot points if the noise is from metal to metal contact and not a failed component.

Whoa whoa whoa.

That's your neutral safety switch activating. Common in Nissan products for it to be loud.

Put your head near the shifter and listen, while you lightly press the brake pedal. It will click at the beginning of the brake stroke.

My Q45 was the loudest, but my Cube does it too.
