I have a 1995 Q45, the odometer quit on me so I replaced it with another cluster. The old cluster had the CEL bulb taken out and I am sure it also had the Brake Pad Worn indicator missing as well. I removed the rear wheel to correct the problem, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn;t the sensor on the front and rear passenger sides? When I removed the wheel there were only two lines, one the brake fluid line, the other the parking brake line. Could the loine have been cut and removed???

Yes, but the electronic sensors also were discontinued during the 1995 model year.

If the sensors were removed, how is the warning light reset? Is it a simple battery disconnect? I have cleared all of my warning lights, now this brake pads worn has to go.

Then someone removed the wiring. Duh!

You have to short the wires, or replace them and use the correct OEM pads or short the replaced wires.

It's not that any line has been cut or removed. What is missing from your passenger side brakes are the sensors. It's been awhile since I looked at an intact one but IIRC the sensor wire is about 18" long. The sensor end plugs into the brake pad through the caliper. Look for about a 3/16" hole in the brake pad. If it's not there it means the PO bought pads without sensors. Not a problem.

The other end of the sensor is a 2 prong electrical connection whose location I am having a hard time remembering. Hopefully one of the experts will pinpoint it for you. If you had a sensor this is the end you would cut and splice its 2 wires together to fool the display.

Here's a few options to get rid of the BRAKE PADS WORN display. 1) Buy a pair of sensors ($20-$30?) at any auto parts store or from one of our parts sellers, cut off the connector, splice the wires together and plug them in.2) Locate the connectors on the passenger side suspension front and back, cut them off and splice the 2 wires together.3) New brake pads all around (with sensor holes) and a pair of sensors.

Personally I would go with option 1. Do a search using BRAKE PADS WORN as the search words and you'll bring up all the DIY info you need. Good luck.

If your car didn't have the sensors to begin with - but the instrument cluster came from an earlier year, then you will get the message.

I would download the 1994 FSM at http://www.phatg20.net and figure out what pin on the cluster needs to be grounded to the chassis to make the warning go away.

Good luck!
