I am sorry. I did try search but it just keeps asking me to login and logout but never gets me to search. Probably web problem or browser one.

Anyway. My Brake Pads Worn light came on. Mechanic replaced pads and sensor but the light will not clear. What is the procedure to clear it? Thanks

Doing the job correctly [with oem pads] clears the sensor code...............Mechanic?Why did you leave with code still on?

Sensor is just a simple grounded loop from rear pad to front pad to diagnostic system................any time the ground is incomplete the warning comes on!

If your rotors weren't turned by the "mechanic", buy OEM pads from

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

And have them turned at a good machine shop (not Autozone or Pep Boys),

Give them your VIN when you call as the sensors moved around. Might look to see if some ignorant PO remeoved it, but if it wasn't showing before, then let's hope your "mechanic" didn't fubar the wires.

The brake pad sensors are only on the PF and PR brakes. None on the driver's side.

I suppose a couple of things could have happened:> Sensors were not installed properly, i.e. not plugged into the harness or nor installed correctly on the caliper, or> The old sensors were reused

Like Tech said, it's only a closed loop and when the sensor contacts the rotor the tip of the sensor wears off, opens the circuit, and illuminates the warning message. If you have open (ribbed) wheels it's pretty easy to visually inspect the pads with just a flashlight. If you're diligent about doing this there really is no need for the sensors. Splice the two wires together as shown in the pic and plug them back into the harness. Caution: Pie pan owners should probably rely on the sensors.

Curious if you had all 4 brakes done or just the fronts (or rears)? You should see if you can get the old sensors from your mechanic, they might come in handy some day. Let us know what you find. Good luck.
