i need to replace the brake pads on my z32 but i don't want to get organic, I'm thinking either ceramic or semi metallic but i want to know whats best for my application. my car see's 90% street 10% track if that. i want the pads to have a good cold stop just in case because California drivers aren't the best drivers and i cant afford to have my car down again as soon as i finish fixing it. but i also want something that will perform well under hi temp. and hard braking because i do occasionally hit the canyons and push my car. i dont care about dust or noise. from what i understand the ceramic are a good balance between both but i like the idea that the semi metalic dust more so they dont wear you're rotors down as much, but since the semi metalic dust more doesnt that mean they will need to be replaced sooner? also brake fade is a b**** so i want something that will do really well under hot braking/panic stops. what do you all suggest?

As long as you don't mind the dust, the Hawk HP+ on the front are the way to go. I don't know if they come with shims these days, but if not you might want to add a set - these pads squeal quite a bit too. For rear pads I would just go with the HPS - I have actually used them on the rear of my ITA track car and they hold up just fine.

I ,personally, avoid organic brake pads altogether. Semi metallic is my compound of choice.I agree whole heartedly with Hawk HP combo suggested earlier. They are dusty pads though. I am currently running Axxis Metal Masters front and rear and while not as aggressive as the Hawk's, they still provide very good performance and I find them to dust a lot less than the Hawk's. Some looking around can get you a fresh set front and rears for under $100.Just a suggestion.

Hawk's pads are made of a ferro-carbon material (carbon-metallic). The HP+ run around $90 a set, the HPS should be around $65.

cool man, another question though, i dont think i really need rear brake pads right now i'm pretty sure its just my front but if i just change the front will it throw my brake balance off?
