I converted my 4 lug s14 to a 5 lug. I used oem s14 spindles on the front, and the rear knuckles from the same s14 SE model.
I also used the stock s14 5 lug rotors, but I kept my stock calipers and brake pads. After finishing the conversion, I hear the sound of friction coming from my wheels. Jack up the car - spin the wheels, and all 4 brakes are seized up. I pressed the front calipers with a C-clamp, and turned the rear caliper piston all the way inside. Went for a test drive, and still have the same problem. I bled the brakes and it didn't make a difference.
Upon inspection, the calipers have ample space to fit the rotor and both pads in between the caliper. But once the brakes are applied, the pads do not retract to the original position. They remain stuck on the rotor. Can anyone help me out with some quality advice? Thanks.
I never had this problem before the 5 lug conversion,
4 lug calipers and pads + 5 lug rotors and spindles
