Just bought a 2000 Infiniti I30T and need to get some brake pads. What are some good ones to get? Do I go with auto parts store brands? Ebay? What works good for you folks. Looking for longevity, not performance, this is my wife's car. Thanks in advance.

I always go with OEM brake pads. When I bought my car from a good friend of mine, it had after market pads on it; and it made all sorts of horrid noise. I switched to the OEM pads and shims, and I have never had brake noise since.

Check out the NICO dealer sponsors in the sticky thread at the top of the forum. Most usually sell at wholesale pricing, which is usually enough to off set the shipping charge.

OEM sounds great to me.....what "brand" is OEM though? I did a light search through the dealers here and came up empty, will go look harder now, but do you have a specific dealer on this site that you can point me to? Thanks.

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com is the place to go. They're Infiniti of Scottsdale, and many forum members (myself included) have had great experiences with them.

That sight works great, but only yields rear brake pads. What about front pads??

If you go into their OEM mechanical replacement parts catalog they list the front pads at $50.48.

I would go OEM

I bought some autozone brake pads and the "dot" whichis raised on the back was smaller than the dot on theon the OEM set. They didnt seat in the caliper as well andwould move or "jump out" and made noise.

Get oem-your life might depend on it

Thanks for the info you guys. I ordered some OEM pads today from the Nissan dealer listed in the above posts. Still couldn't find the front pads on the website so I just called them and ordered them.
