I have a 09 Rogue S and after 62000kms I need to replace my front and rear pads and rotors. The dealer wants over $1000 to get factory parts which is too much coin for me. I am wondering what aftermarket one's I should get between ceramic or semi metallic and as far as warranty goes. I want something that will last hopefully another 5 years but do not want to break the bank. Also I am told the semi metallic are less noisy than ceramic but the ceramic will last longer. Any thoughts on this?

i doubt you'll get 5 years out of our rotors. heck, i doubt you'll get 3. i doubt the stock calipers will even last that long. they are KNOWN for seal issues resulting in stuck/seized pistons. (ask me how i know this? lol)

id just go with anything you can afford, watch your braking habits, and maybe find a national retailer offering a long-term warranty =
Midas Lifetime Guarantee*
When you purchase brake pads and brake shoes at Midas, you also get the famous Midas Lifetime Guarantee* – once you purchase brake pads or brake shoes from us, you will never need to pay for replacements again, for as long as you own your car.
*Most vehicles. See manager for limited guarantee terms.
also we have another big problem = tiny rotors. these warp so darn quick, its not even funny.

I did get 5 years on my stock brake pads and rotors. The best price on premium lifetime pads and 1yr on rotors was through Carquest for under $400CAD.

Search on ebay.ca (buy from Canadian seller, so no customs/tax at delivery):
http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... _PrefLoc=1

You will see even ceramic set of 4 (front + rear), is under C$188 (free shipping to Canada)

I have purchased this brand for my Acura EL, and had it installed at local mechanic.
The installer was impressed at the price and quality of the breaks pads and rotors.
I like the look too (looks better than OEM Honda rotors), looks very sporty on my car.
Independent mechanics should charge C$200-300 to install all 4.

Good luck.

Okay thanks I am still debating whether or not to get the rotors that are drilled or not just because of the strength and warping that may occur. Seems like a good price though for all 4.

Don't bother with drilled rotors. There's no reason to drill rotors anymore. When they used to do it, it used to be primarily for weight savings (take a look at a swiss cheese Formula Ford rotor sometime and you'll see what I mean) Cheapo blanks are plenty good enough. People even track (other, more suitable cars) with cheapo blank rotors.

Just go on rockauto and get a set of decent rotors. Centric standard rotors are like $25ea front, $16-20ea rear. Stoptech street pads are like $84/set. OEM grade Akebono ceramics are about $100/set. There are cheaper options too, like power stop ceramics, etc. They have a powerstop rotor and pad kit, front and rear for like $170. Clean the machine oil off the hat portion of the rotor and hit it with some BBQ grill paint to prevent it rusting (the centric premium rotors have a coating on the non-friction surfaces). You don't have to mask it, just don't directly spray the friction surface. The overspray will come off the first time you apply the brakes.

I wonder why I haven't had to replace the brakes at all yet. I've put 35K on mine and the brakes are just fine. Is it possible you guys have bad wheel bearings? That would cause excessive pad wear and rotor issues. Might be worth a look...
