Post

I live in Belgium and just picked up my 91 President at the port of Antwerp. Bought it in Japan with 133k on the clock.
On the drive home I hardly had any brakes. Pedal was shuddering. At my workshop I noticed the pads around had hardly any life left and the rotors were in poor condition as well.
Probably warped rotors as well which explains the shuddering of the brake pedal.

Now in Europe the President or Infiniti Q45 were never sold.
So I can buy them in the US or Japan, but with the weight it will be very expensive to ship + large import fees.

Now I was wondering if the pads and rotors are maybe shared with another car? From Nissan or another brand...
That way I can just order the parts here in Europe.
I have found the front rotors are allmost identical to the last gen 300ZX, but the rotors are 2mm thicker than the ones from the President... So probably won't fit. Calipers probably won't go over the thicker rotor and pads...

So anyone got an idea if there are front and rear rotors and pads that I can order in Europe?

Thanks

I do not have an answer about other Nissan brakes that may work but here is a lead to where you can get Q45 parts, cheap in the US.
http://www.rockauto.com
This is a very large internet retailer in the US that specializes in buying up old stock so for an old car like the Q45, they can be a good source. Even better, they will ship internationally. I know the parts prices are reasonable. I will leave it to you to judge if the shipping costs are reasonable.

I recently prepared a Q45 on a budget as shown here: post6676419.html?hilit=grassroots%20mot ... 5#p6676419
The pads that I bought were recommended here on NICO and I have been happy with them.

Pads:
Front: Beck/Arnley Axxis 0881448m $24.89 for the pair.
Rear: Beck/Arnley Axxis 0871483 $12.57 for the pair.

Rotors:
The rotors that I bought were Aimco brand at $14.29 each for front and $15.59 for rear. I just looked and they only have one of each still in stock but you can get other brands for as low as $19.29 each, front and $8.28 rear.

I'd also check ebay.uk for Q45 brake parts.

I actually think the Z32 rotors would fit fine on the Q45 calipers. I know you can open those calipers up more than 2mm additional.. Worst case scenario, it may be easier for you to get Z32 rotors and turn them down 2mm at a shop than it would be to get Q45 rotors.

Do you have easy access to any of the Y32 or Y33 chassis from NIssan?
