Just trying to get a feel for how long the OEM pads last...be sure and include the model year, miles and what pads you went with.

It all depends on how your drive. I've seen pads go within 10-15K miles on some coupes and souped up sedans.... likewise, I've seen some last >50 (mine for example), especially with drivers who don't race or do a lot of fast stop and go traffic. Essentially, it all depends on your driving style.

I have 40k on my 06. It is about 2.5 years old. I have the 6mt so i don't go just use the brakes.

I think they are the original! I have never done mine yet. I bought the car with 28k miles... I don't think they would have been done before then.

I always do my own brakes. I always go ceramic. They have like a white dust and not a black dust. Never have to see the dust.

They last like 50-85+k miles.

They don't get as hot as fast. They also stop the car better with less stress to the pads.

The best part is that they only cost like 5-10 extra bux at the local auto parts store!

The only catch is that you have to do front and rear at the same time. It has something to do with the way the pressure is distributed from the master cylinder.

On my IS 300 i did the rear brakes with the oem replacements. then like 3k miles later i put ceramic on the front when they needed to be changed.

Well i started to see alot of dust on the rear tires... about 10X more than normal. So about 2k miles later the sensors started to rub and I had to replace them. When i put the ceremic on the back it fixed the problem!

I purchased the car with 68k miles on it... Did the front and rears at 71k drove the car to 118k miles and they were still great! (I could see that i had plenty of pad on inside and out)

Good luck.. Lets see what every one else has to say!

My G looks like they are in good shape so far at 40K miles

I just changed the fronts on my 03 at 22k miles. My lazy *** waited too long so I had to do the rotors too. I had the Hawks installed - will eventually do the rears as well when the time comes.

Mine is an 07 6MT with 17,000 miles. Checked the pads recently and both front and rear are about 50%. So, I will say by 22K, both will need to be changed. Perhaps I willbe going ceramic next time.

I am at about 35k on my OEMs...I need to change mine as well. I have been thinking about doing the Hawk HPS' instead of OEM, still can't decide.

Just changed my rears at 52K. Supposedly Infiniti dealer told me the fronts are still fine on the originals OEM's.

From what I understand the 3 and 04 were the worst in terms of brake dust and wear from the OEM pad. On my 03 which went 22k on the original pads - brake dust would appear on front wheels the same day I cleaned them. I would imagine that newer OEM pads have gotten better since 2004.

Since switching to the Hawks up front - brake dust is drastically reduced - I can go almost a week without seeing significant build up. The hawks also seem to not be as twitchy as the original brakes were. When it gets warmer I will replace the rears with Hawks to complete the swap.

I'm at 49k on my 06. Pads are still in good shape. I can do a 50 mile commute to work on the NJ Turnpike, switch to the Garden State Parkway, go on entrance, exit ramps, go thru 5 toll booths without ever touching my brakes until I park the car at work. I love to shift to control my G

I think the manuals are easier on the pads... I drive aobut 50 miles round trip and never touch the brakes until i stop at work or school or home... Unless i get into some traffic!
