Ok so Im trying to find the pads for the front of my Sedan! I got the rear ones in ceramic and found them fine! Every Place I go they only have the pads from the 03-04 (that size non brembo!) The are listed in the computer system as 05 and 06 but they are still the same small pad that looks like it would fit an 03-04!

I get them home and none of them fit (to small!)

Any one buy pads for a 05-06 coupe or sedan... I think they are the same pads? Where did you get them!

I have been to Autozone and Advance auto parts and both have the same problem!

Here's my advice. Stop trying to put garbage on your Infiniti.

http://www.g35parts.com/9083/o...d=400

Probably around $55-$60 shipped.

lol he he... that's damn good advice bro...

I got ebay cross drilled rotors / pads for $170, perfect fit, works great! I got them installed professionally because I was too busy to do it myself, and the brake pads squeaking is enough to drive you mad.

well I just got back from the advanced auto parts! I took the pads in there and they matched them up to another set in a book!

They had them but their computer was wrong...

Telco- You just like me have a sport package on the sedans so the pads are bigger!

They where listed under a special number!

For you guys replacing your pads from 05-06 and the 07 coupe will have problems at auto zone and advanced auto parts.

I am also upgrading to ceramic's but even on the OEM pads where wrong in their system!

I have 43k miles on my G... The pads really are like new! but when i bought the car I had a problem with the brakes and they where shaking bad and i don't remember if they were replaced. but i know they had to turn the rotors! That might be why they look new.

I am having a shake when doing multiple high speed stops on the interstate! I hate it and it isn't safe so im going to the ceremic pads!

Unless advanced auto carries Hawk or one of the other higher end brake pads, I wouldn't touch them.

I hate Durlast garbage (The batteries are good though).

You can order AXXIS pads at Advance Auto. They also keep in stock Wagner, and Friction Master. Both quality pads.

I have both... Wagner on the front and Friction master on the back!... It took me 24 min from start to finish to replace all of the pads!

I really need to do a write up on how to do it! What do you guys think?

I will work on that...

All you need is a 14mm socket and ratchet, and a screw driver (flat head),

1. Jack up car 2. Take tire off 3. put the screw driver between old pad and Brake Piston and put pressure on the brake piston so that it retracts so that the new pads fit. 4. Take 14mm socket an loosen the two bolts that are attached to the sliding part of the caliper. 5. take off the caliper! Place it on top of the rotor so that there is no pressure on the brake lines! 6. remove the old pads and shims. 7 replace the pads with new pads and shims.

Note--The original pads had 2 shims on one side of the caliper and the other side had 1 shim. Front had 2 on the outside and back had 2 on the inside

8 mount caliper back 9 replace bolts 10 mount tires!

The Rear is the same Accept I only removed the top bolt from the caliper! It will swivel on the bottom one and you can replace the pads and swivel it right back into place (Bottom bolt won't come out all the way because the suspension is in the way!)

It took me longer to type this than it did to do the brake job!

Note-- Make sure your rotors are smooth! if not you will have to cut them! And to do that you will have to remove 2 extra bolts that are larger and they guard the caliper and help it side! Then the rotor slides off and you can take it somewhere to have them cut!

I do recommend that you use ceramic pads on all 4 wheels... Less brake dust, stay cooler longer, last longer!

You should at least scuff the rotors using sand paper of a whizz wheel to make a good surface for the new pads to break in with. I know cutting them is not always recommended but just give em a little non directional finish.

The carrier bolts are 19mm.

You will need a hammer to loosen them, a plastic dead blow is ideal.

But that must be for an older G... As you can see the sizes are different on the bolts!

Nope Never really leave here!

It's ok though I can almost never make it past active topics. A little too much 240 crap but I try to respond to anything I can provide incite on. I think today is the first time I have stuck to general chat, I like to keep tabs on everything.

I was reading this whole thread again and noticed a few things.

One issue is something I said. I mentioned using a 19mm box wrench, that is the size of the rear carrier bolts. The fronts are 22mm the torque spec for the front torque member is ": 152.1 - 154.9 N-m (15.6 - 15.7 kg-m, 113 - 114 ft - lb)" so make sure that you have good leverage on it.

The second is that regardless of what type of pad is going anywhere it is crucial for quiet operation to apply grease to the edges and the shim contact surfaces. Ideally Nissan PBC grease is recommended but a good petroleum based grease should suffice.

I gotcha Ill break brakes down here with the complete process needed for a proper brake job.(I know that this has to be on the site somewhere but I don't wanna search for it)

Inspection PAD THICKNESS Remove wheel with vehicle lifted to check pad thickness fromcheck hole on the cylinder body. If necessary, use a scale to check (tread depth gauge works well too).

Pad Replacement

REMOVAL

Fronts Rears

WARNING:Clean brake pads with a vacuum dust collector to minimize the hazard of airborne particles or othermaterials.CAUTION:

When cylinder body is open, do not depress brake pedal because piston will pop out.(when the caliper is in any position other than secured to the torque member)

Be careful not to damage piston boot or get oil on rotor always replace shims in replacing pads.

It shims are rusted or show peeling of rubber coat, replace them with new shims.

It is not necessary to remove connecting bolt except for disassemble or replacement of caliper assembly. In this case, suspend cylinder body with wire so as not to stretch brake hose.

Carefully monitor brake fluid level because brake fluid will return to reservoir when pushing backpiston.

Burnish the brake contact surfaces after refinishing or replacing rotors, after replacing pads, or if a soft pedal occurs at very low mileage. 1. Remove master cylinder reservoir cap.2. Remove tire.3. Remove lower sliding pin bolt.4. Hang cylinder body with a wire, and remove pads, pad retainers, shims from torque member.Standard thickness : 11.0 mm (0.433 in)Repair limit thickness : 2.0 mm (0.079 in)(almost all pre 05 Gs will require rotors)

FRONT DISC BRAKECAUTION: When removing pad retainer from torque member, lift padretainer in the direction shown by the arrow (shown in thefigure) so as not to deform it. Do not damage piston boot. Keep brake fluid clean of rotor.

INSTALLATION1. Apply brake grease on back of pad and both sides of shim, install inner shim and inner shim cover to innerpad, outer shim to outer pad.2. Apply brake grease on the pad retainer pad retainer pad contact surface. Install pad retainers, pads andreturn springs to torque member.3. Connect cylinder body to torque member.CAUTION:When replacing pads with new ones, press piston in until pads can be installed. Carefully monitorbrake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. Brake fluid will return, raising master cylinder reservoirtank fluid level.4. Insert lower sliding pin bolt and tighten to the specified torque.5. Check brake for drag.6. Install tire.

Brake Burnishing ProcedureBurnish the brake contact surfaces according to the following procedure after refinishing or replacing rotors, after replacing pads, or if a soft pedal occurs at very low mileage.CAUTION:Only perform this procedure under safe road and traffic conditions. Use extreme caution.1. Drive vehicle on a straight smooth road at 50 km/h (31 MPH).2. Use medium brake pedal/foot effort to bring vehicle to a complete stop from 50 km/h (31 MPH). Adjustbrake pedal/foot pressure such that vehicle stopping time equals 3 to 5 seconds.3. To cool the brake system, drive vehicle at 50 km/h (31 MPH) for 1 minute without stopping.4. Repeat steps 1 to 3, 10 times or more to complete the burnishing procedure.

Is that any better?

Drain and Refill

CAUTION:

* Refill with new brake fluid “DOT3”.

* Never reuse drained brake fluid.

* Do not let brake fluid come in contact with painted surfaces on the body. This might damage thepaint, so if it does come in contact, immediately wipe area and wash off with water. 1. Connect a vinyl tube to air bleeder.2. Depress the brake pedal, loosen air bleeder, and graduallyremove brake fluid.3. Turn the key switch to the off position and remove negative batterycable.4. Make sure there is no foreign material in the reservoir tank, andrefill with new brake fluid.5. Rest foot on brake pedal. Loosen air bleeder. Slowly depresspedal until it stops. Tighten air bleeder. Release brake pedal.Repeat this process a few times, then pause to add new brakefluid to master cylinder. Continue until new brake fluid flows out.Bleed Air.Bleeding Brake System

CAUTION:* Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinderduring bleeding operation.* Fill reservoir with new brake fluid “DOT 3”. Make sure itis full at all times while bleeding air out of system.* Place a container under master cylinder to avoid spillage ofbrake fluid.* For models with VDC, turn ignition switch OFF anddisconnect VDC actuator connectors or battery groundcable.* Bleed air in the following order. Right rear brake → Leftfront brake → Left rear brake → Right front brake

1. Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder.2. Fully depress brake pedal several times.3. With brake pedal depressed, open air bleeder to release air.4. Close air bleeder.5. Release brake pedal slowly.6. Repeat steps 2, through 5, until clear brake fluid comes outof air bleeder.

How's that? In the shop we use the BG machine but this works well prior to this machine I have used this method. If done correctly it does make a noticeable difference to some people.
