I have a 96 nissan 240sx. I had a shop install a Axxis Ultimate pads for the front brakes less than a year ago.

Few months ago from now I started hearing clicking noise from the brakes when I applied the brakes at low speeds. This only happened when I was rolling and going under 10 mph. Now, however, I get this terrible squealing noise (really audible) fron the brakes when I apply the brakes. As with the click, it happens only under 10 mph. So now its just squealing instead of clicks.

I see that they put anti squealing compound (silver in color) on the back of the pad but I don't know if they used new set of shims. Is it because of shims or do my pads have to be replaced?

are you sure its from the fronts? i know that hawk pads come preshimmed and i would imagine the axxis pads do as well. try jacking up the front end and turning the wheel by hand to hear it better. maybe the backing plate or hardware is rubbing.

Yea im pretty sure the noise comes from the front. It only happens when the brake is applied... if I let go of the brake the noise stops...

Ok when you jack up the front end and just turn the wheel are you supposed to hear any sounds at all? I hear a very slight metal/metal contact noise

Ok I realized that the squealing noise happens only when I

1. Going slow2. Have my steering wheel turned3. Applying brakes.

Are my rotors warped or something?

very slight noise is normal. i would check the dust shield behind the rotor adn the caliper hardware. maybe just take it all apart and lube the sliding surfaces.
