Brake noise...is this common on 2006 qx56?

every time we start the qx56 for the day, the brakes make noise when applying the break..a light squeal. over the next 10-15 min after driving, it goes away...but not completely..just not as loud.

normally, i'd go and have it checked, but the manual says it's common for the brakes to make noise when applying the brake...only when it makes noise without applying the brake does it mean that the pads/rotors may need servicing...

so is this normal? any qx56 owners notice this as well? i know the dealer will be like "yeah, u need new pads, rotors, etc"....meanwhile, everything is fine..lol

I noticed this as well on my 2006 QX56. It only happens at very slow speed <5 mph. During normal driving I dont notice any squeal at all. Its most likely the brake pads or if the brake pads were replaced, the anti-squeal grease was not applied to them.

Hmm...do you think i should bother taking it to the dealer?

Wont hurt to ask and most places check your brakes for free. Les Scwhab, Discount Tires, find your local mechanics, Cregs Japs, etc....
