Chris N. or C2 pulled his car into the shop today and I noticed something about his brake master cylinder. It looks quite different from what I am used to seeing under the hood of both my car and Ivan's car.

That being said, how many of you have a different style of brake master cylinder other than this one, or one that is commonly found in the s13? How many variations are out there?

Here is a picture of C2's car.

Lets keep this on topic, if you have the Odd chingus coming out the bottom of the MBC, then post what make/model/year etc you have. If not, lets just not say anything.

my guess is its for automatic transmissions(brake booster is also different for automatics i think, they're bigger), my manual S13 doesn't have it, but i have a friends(S14 automatic) and my brother's old S14(automatic) have that same thing, i have another friend with a manual S14 that doesn't have it though.

there should be 3 styles, 1 manual, 1 automatic and 1 ABS.(more like 2 styles as the ABS 1 i believe is same as manual)

It looks like a rear brake restriktor, just an adaptor with a narrow hole to reduce rear brake pressure. Without it you get 50/50 brake balance. (My guess)
