I tried doing my brakes for the first time tonight and I'm afraid I made a terrible mistake. I placed the Brake Lubricant on the inside of the brake pads touching the rotor. The brand is Sil-Glyde and I made the mistake I usually do of acting before reading. Well, I've put it all back together before I notice what it says about putting it everywhere else but where I put it (I'm a genious!). However, it doesn't caution against it. I'm wondering if you guys have done this before and just drove with it or if I need to take it all apart again and wash it off. Please respond asap because I probably won't do anything until I hear something. Thanks...

Unbolt one side of the caliper and swing it off the rotor, and remove the pads. Clean them very liberally with brake cleaner, as well as the rotor surface. This will get most of the lubricant off, and denature the film. Following that a simple brake pad embedding procedure should remove remnents of the lubricant.

Be well advised that you should use personal judgement before test driving the car. Feel the rotor face and pads themselves, it's your life, and your property at risk.

if you're using enw rotors i'd advise you to take themo ff and give them a good clean using the cleaners, and at the same time you acn clean the pads too.
