Any G owners out here that upgraded to stainless steel brake lines? Noticable difference? I'm thinking about ordering them tomorrow.

I doubt you would notice a lot of difference for normal street use, but on the track they would be more likely to show their 'stuff'. What is equally important is the material inside the stainless braid. Therefore I would purchase a high quality set.

If you have the bucks, why not, they will not hurt and they have been proven under severe conditions. They are a piece that gives that hi-tech look while being functional, especially compared to many other add ons.

Do it, you will not be sorry. You WILL notice a differance. The brake pedal will have a much firmer feel. I have put them on 3 of my previous cars. The differance is HUGE.

I put them on my Bro-in-laws STi. It was his favorite upgrade.

My belief is that you will not notice much difference under normal braking, the harder you brake the greater the difference.

They do come with some things to consider. One is that line condition is hard to decipher so the best bet is to replace them on a schedule. Second if you run in any sort of dirty atmosphere you may want to encase them in a plastic sheath to protect the line from dirt coming between the braid and the tube which is often not the same rubber material as OEM.

Be careful about crimped on ends as this is a common failure point for braided lines.

Some manufacturers now use different types of braids such as cloth to give some of the benefits of SS without the negatives.
