I got a set of PDM brake lines and i was putting them in this weekend. the front went in flawlessly. however, the rear being a little be more rusted up i stripped the fitting at the end and ended up snapping the metal line before the fender well bracket on the passenger side. i am pretty furious right now. and i searched but all i can find is info about the lines themselves. My question is how serious is this problem and what are the parts/prices necessary to repair this problem?? most importantly where i could find the parts. thanks

Is the rear left hardline going to the caliper? If it is I rounded off the fitting and had to replace the line. I just removed it, took it to AutoZone, they cut me a new line and used a bender to bend it for me...worked flawlessly. Mine is non-hicas though.

I actually tried fabbing up that hardline for mine when I rounded out the flare fitting. The new line leaked constantly, so I ended up going out to the junk yard with a can of PB Blaster and a flare nut wrench and took a hard line off a junker. I haven't had any issues since.

Invest in a set of Flae nut Wrenches. Not that expensive and will prevent the exact problem you have. It can also be hard at times to properly tighen these fittings without a Flare Nut Wrench.

My flare nut wrench was probably one of the best investments I ever made. I had wished I had had the foresight to have gotten it when I did my rear brakes. Would have avoided the junk yard completely.

Agreed! Definitely wish I had known and still one of the best things to have.
