Brake lights won't turn off...

The other day i noticed that my brake lights wont turn off. There is a small switch somewhere above the brake pedal, which controls the lights in the back and when the pedal is not pressed down, that pedal pushes that button and the lights are off. Somehow a little plastic piece broke off and my pedal doesnt push the switch. now my lights in the back are on all the time...Any ideas on how to fix this problem?thanks

Most cars have the switch on an adjustable nut or device similar to that. Try to see if you can adjust it back or forward as needed.
