brake lights

my brake lights are staying on but the brake is not engaged or anything can anybody help?

mine did the same thing for a while, then they stopped working altogether. i just ordered a new switch (only like 5 bucks), hope it works. i unplugged the connector to the switch and jumped it with a wire and my lights worked, so im 95% sure that it's the switch.

I've seen this happen on many hondas & acuras. Most of the time the owner somehow jammed a single filament bulb into a dual filiment socket. Pull out all the brake light bulbs and check for 12 volts on the green w/ red stripe wire. If its getting power, there is a short somewhere in the wiring.

the switch stopper on your brake pedal shaft has fell apart...all it is is a small circular piece of plastic that is attached to your brake pedal shaft, what it does is push the brake light switch off when your foot is not on the peddle. tape a penny or something up there and it'll push the button off.
