My brake lights were staying on and draining the battery even with the keys off and out. I thought it was the brake switch, but it turned out to be the brake pedal stopper. They are also called rubber stopper and other names. The one called for the 98 y33 Q45 is 465845P010 ( 46584-5P010 ) but I went to a Nissan dealer and ordered 46584S0100 ( 46584-S0100 ) for $3.70 ea. x2. They were stocked at Aurora IL (Chicago area) Nissan parts warehouse and I picked them up the following day. I greased them up a bit with silicone grease and they snapped in easy. I found out later that I could've bought them for $3.23 ea. if i placed the order with another local dealer online, but this particular dealer quoted me like $7.30 ea. when I called them. so I went ahead and ordered at another dealer who quoted me for $3.70 ea..
I guess this part can also replace 465842y000 ( 46584-2Y000 ) and other part and probably last longer as these are made of clear nylon type material instead of the rubber.

Also replaces 46512H0101 ( 46512-H0101 ) which were used on older cars.

Helpful post. Always nice to fix something on these cars for under $10.

I'd be putting a bolt and nut in there so fast you wouldn't believe it and for maybe a buck if that much. Never have to deal with it again.
