Hi,

I'm having a problem with my brake lights. they suddenly won''t go out. I found a few plastic pieces on the driver side floor mat and am thinking they may have been part of a system to engage a switch to interupt the circuit for the brake lights.

Thoughts on my analysis and if I'm correct any idea on how to repair.

There is a grommet that is supposed to be at the top of the clutch pedal. The pieces you found are that grommet. They dry up and crack and fall out. Super glue a nickel in place or attempt to find the grommet from the dealer. If you look up there you'll see what I'm talking about. If not, look at the fsm.

It is just a little rubber stopper that is on the brake pedal. It just snaps in. I went to my local nissan dealer and they had it for around 3 dollars.

Hope this helps.
