1990 240SX with the brkae light on all the time. The switch on the pedal appears to work, I hooked DVM up and it is switching. does anyone know if there is a relay between that switch and the lights, or does it just go thru a conjuction box and fuses?

Usually its the rubber piece has fell off that hits that switch on the pedal.

The brake pedal switch has nothing to do with the brake light. Your having an issue with e-brake contact sensor, our the sensor inside your master cylinder resaviour.

Ah I read as brake lights. The Ebrake light is also usually tied with battery issues. Or the sensor as he mentioned.

Waite, now I'm confused. We talking about the gauge cluster brake light on all the time or the brake lights in the back?

Thansk All this is a start , the rear brake lights are the ones on. I can crank with a jump and then the rear lights stay on and drain the battery down. The rubber piece on the pedel appears to be ok. The switch in the master cylinder or is it on the cylinder or on the out side?

Since its the brake lights on the rear, wouldn't have anything to do with master cylinder sensor. If switch is working on brake pedal and rubber piece is there it must be in the wiring.

First make sure all the bulbs in the tail lights are the correct ones.
