brake lights dont turn off what could be the problem

Stick your head up under the dash. Now follow the brake pedal up about half way. There is gonna be a small ear sticking out to the side and a small push button type sensor. If the button goes through the hole in the ear, that is the problem. There should be a small grommet in that hole the depresses the button.If this does not make sense, go to your car and do as I just said. If you are crafty, you will understand. I used a small 10mm fender bolt with a nut to replace the grommet.
