Brake Lights don't work but running lights/3rd brake do

Hey guys,

I have a 93 300z NA. I recently was pulled over and given a fix-it ticket for no brake lights. The day before I had seen the dash brake light symbol appear on the dash everytime I pushed the brake. So I took a look, and the running lights seem to work fine as well as the turn signals and the 3rd brake light.

From perusing this and other sites, I have seen people suggest the problem could be the Tail light sensor. However I can't seem to locate it. I heard that it is green and about 3in. x 1in. Could someone describe or have a picture of its location? Also, if it is broken is there a way to wire around it??

It is either a green or white box in the rear hatch, on the driver's side (USDM), secured to the back wall of the hatch, behind the interior panels. Here's a diagram that will make sense more than the verbal diarrhea that I just spewed:
