i put in my aftermarket head unit and incase any one is wondering the speaker wires are the same in a "s" modle but you cant hook up your ground wire to the factory ground. so i get it in and the lights for my ac controls arnt working so i found that you have to hook the factory ground to the power wire to my streo and the come on so problem solved but my tail lights arnt working and neither is my dimmer for the gauge cluster any ideas and its not the fuse.?

the parking light fuse which was an idiotic thing on Nissan's part is not labeled in the manual. The only fuse boxes that are labeled are the one inside the V, and the main distribution block, but not the 3rd box. The parking light fuse is to the right of the battery (can be seen in this photo)

open up that box, and carefully and slowly pull it STRAIGHT UP as all the wires and fuses are on the side you are pulling up on. The parking light fuse is in slot #37 and is a 10 amp fuse, replace that and your parking lights should work. If you turn them on and that fuse pops, then you have a problem

ok heres the thing i managed to get them to work it was the accesory wire in the dash but they are always on even when the car is off. when i try to ground the wire to the factory ground it blows the audio fuse under the hood any ideas why they dont turn off. it probly sounds crazy but it is not that fuse it has some thing to do with the wires in the dash.

Had a similar problem with a Kia, turns out there was a short somewhere in the (aftermarket) wiring harness for the (aftermarket) head unit. I would blow my taillight fuses all the time, and sometimes my dash fuses, if the thing was plugged in.

Just run the ground to any nearby bolt to the frame that you can find.

can you take a picture of how you wired everything, this is not making sense to me. You did something wrong wiring everything up, and are more than likely causing your self more trouble. I would recommend unplugging everything before you do more damage that might cost you more than what it would have cost you to have someone install the radio. Take a picture so I can see because you have done something seriously wrong.

i know its hard to tell what you looking at and im shure that has to be one of the worst jobs youve ever seen but i ran in to problems with this project right from the begining and now my ac controls dont light up my dimmer doesnt work my tail lights dont work and my front parking lights dont work unless i connect the orange accesory wire to the power wire and then the all work but they never turn off when i try to ground them to any thing it blows fuses or just doesnt work

however my tint did turn out nice

wow bud you have just caused a world of hurt by doing that. The reason your lights don't work is because you blew the fuse. Do as I said and get that fuse replaced. other than that, I really can't help you, you have ruined your harness. Fix all your wires back to stock, and then you can fix this once you are not popping that fuse. You should have T-tapped the wires or even better bought the harness to do this. Once you have everything back to stock let me know, and we can go from there. You will need to re-do your wiring job as that is not good to leave like that at all, and I can tell you that if the dealer sees that they are going to void your electrical warranty.

It looks like you cut up just about every wire you saw.

Do yourself a favor and at least put electrical tape around those butt connectors, they're easy, but they are very prone to disconnecting with age. I usually put electrical tape over all of my connections, at least once around so that nothing shorts out, then I zip tie the bunch. Doing this just makes things much easier.

I second the above. Butt splice connectors are prone to working loose. I finally got my trailer light module wired up and I taped everything up and bundled any loose wires together.

Best of luck.
