As the title says my lights are always on. I did an SR20 redtop swap. I have an 89 240. what i have done so far and noticed so far. Well i figured its getting power from somewhere its not suppose to. So i disconnected the brake switch connector and the lights shut off so i figured maybe its getting power from somewhere between the fuse on the driver side and the switch. So i pulled the fuse. the lights went out. So i guess its getting power somewhere between the fuse box and the battery. Is this thinking right? or does it come from something else. or am i totally lookin in the wrong place. I noticed that my right turn signal works normal speed and both front and rear work. But the left side the front one blink 10x faster than norm and not getting any thing at all from the rear one. Could these be linked? Thank u for any help

I dont think they're linked.

check again next to your E brake, there is a switch that is enable/disabled based on where the lever is situated.

if its misaligned the light wont go off unless the handle is pushed all the way down, or even below the disabled position.

remove console and look around. you might be able to adjust the sensor to your sensitivity level.

That means that your rear left side turn signal bulb is burned out and needs to be replaced.

This might sound strange, but could you have somehow bent your brake pedal during the install? Try to pull up on the brake pedal and see if the brake light goes off.

nah man i pulled on the brake pedal an nothin happens that was one of the first things i thought of. i didnt think about the ebrake thing. By my understandin there is suppose to be a grommet on the switch touching the pedal. I dont have one so im going to get one and see thank very much for the help

the grommet should be it. Had the same problem replaced it with a nut and bolt so I would never have to deal with it again...

Have you replaced the brake light switch? It is a cheap part, and could likely be causing your brake lights to always be on.

usually as a safty feature when the brake lite switch goes bad it is in the on position as a default to allow you to see there is a problem so you will change it
