So I've noticed that when I want to drive in a "spirited" manner the brake light on the instrument panel illuminates. I have no idea why, is that a precautionary warning?

Are any of you also experiencing this issue, if it is one at all.

Let me know

Thanks
Andy

check your brake fluid reservoir. the light is a low level indicator. it likely means you're low on fluid as when you accelerate or stop suddenly the fluid will shift in the bowl and if its low the warning will come on. if its low check your brake pads as they may need replacement soon.

^^ that's exactly what it is. Had this a few months ago on my car. Top up your fluid.

Mine is topped off and it still does it. But my car launches pretty hard compared to a stock car. It stays on solid from about 0 to about 80 mph.

I have seen this too with a full brake reservoir. I'm starting to think that my e-brake pedal sensor might be the cause. I need to make time to diagnoses it but it a low priority right now.

Replaced my front brake pads and the brake light stopped coming on during acceleration. So here is my theory. I think that the brake system and/or ABS pump pull some fluid down when the car is driving. Even with my old, worn down pads the resivour showed full when I would check it but the light would come on under acceleration. Now that my pads are new there is not enough room in the system to pull the fluid down low enough to set the light on acceleration. I did not add any fluid when I changed the pads either.

So the theoretical fix would be to add fluid as the pads wear down even though the resivour shows full. And then once the pads are replaced some fluid would have to be removed.

Thinking about it now, I haven't checked if my fluid is above full with the new pads, only checked that there was enough when I replaced I changed the pads. I'll have a look tomorrow.

That's exactly what that was. I've replaced the rotors and pads, no more light.

It got to the point even under normal acceleration.

Thanks
